Global News Special: International Womens Day

It’s the 100th anniversary of World Women’s Day tomorrow! What are your plans? Here are lots of great ideas on how you can get involved:

o The International Women’s Day website has a great selection of events. Just select your country and a whole list of events will appear!

o The UN Women’s theme for this year is: Equal Access to Education, Training and Science and Technology: Pathway to Decent Work for Women. They’ve planned events globally to commemorate this day- lots of it focusing on girls and young women from youth workshops to ‘Girls Talk’. Find out what’s being planned near you.



o Join women on the bridge. All around the world, people will be going onto their local bridges to show their support for empowering women. Find out how you can get involved.

Empower the girl, empower the women- ‘Women in Law and Development in Africa (WILDAF) teach agriculture techniques to girls so that they know how to grow food and package it in a way that all countries accept it.
